Abstract

This quick refresher looks at two versions of a simple Monte Carlo simulator--one written in C language, and another in Fortran 77--showing off the basic programming statements in the process. It is a good introduction to the next talk in this series: Rappture with C and Fortran. It also shows how to set up a simple Makefile, and how to use the GNU debugger gdb to debug programs.
